Sorry, you can only duel once per star purchase.
Come back after buying another star.
Mega Splat Party (MSP for short) is a multiplayer party game that has no limits on how many players can play!
MSP is played across both this website and Splatoon 3 and is based on the popular party game series Mario Party.
Move across the board to buy the star, beat your friends (and enemies) in minigames to earn coins, and use items to gain an advantage in the game.
Welcome to the party!
Mega Splat Party is designed to be played on a computer, although it does work on most modern phones, the experience is best on PC.
Some minigames in Mega Splat Party will require a minimum amount of progress in Splatoon 3 to be playable. Make sure your profile meets all the requirements before signing up:
The sign-up process is quite simple. If sign-ups are open for the next running of Mega Splat Party, the website will proceed to a "Login/Sign-up" page.
To sign-up you will need both your unique discord username (i.e. astrodwarf) and your Splatoon splashtag name (i.e. AstroDwarf#1234). Your unique discord username can be found below your username on your profile.
Your splatoon splashtag must include the "#" and the 4 or 5 numbers found on the bottom left of your splashtag in game.
After you have logged-in, a new screen will appear with the start time of the game. From 1 hour before MSP starts up until the start of MSP, on this screen you can check-in for the game. You will be required to be checked-in to participate in Mega Splat Party. If you don't check-in ahead of time, you can still check-in while the game is running and start playing late.
The goal of Mega Splat Party is to have the most Stars ()
at the end of the game. Stars can be obtained in a few different ways. The first is reaching the star space and purchasing a star for 20 coins.
The second is by winning a duel for a star. Duels are triggered by duel spaces.
Lastly, if the gimmick is active, you can collect 5 silver stars on the board to get a star.
In the event where 2 players are tied by having the same amount of stars, the player with more Coins ()
will win the tie.
Your turn consists of rolling your dice and moving on the board. Before you roll your dice, you can use a single item that will affect your turn. You can read more about them under Items. After rolling, you move on the board. You can move in any direction you want on the board as long as the way is not blocked. Depending on the space you land on, they can have different effects, you can read more about them under Spaces. After you hit the End Turn button, your turn will end and any effects for the space you landed on will trigger. There are some spaces that trigger when you walk over them such as Shops and the Star Space. You can also read about them under Spaces.
After all players have completed their turn, a minigame will begin. Minigames are your oppurtunity to earn coins by beating other players in a challenge.
The Minigame UI has 3 parts to be aware of. First the Description.
On this tab you will get an overview of the minigame and any rules you need to be aware of.
Many minigames will require you to be in a lobby with the other players, make sure to use the pool and password provided for creating rooms. You can also use the Chat tab to coordinate who will host the room.
Next is the Results tab.
Here you can see all of the players joining you for your minigame and the teams they are on if the minigame requires teams. As MSP has no limits on how many people can play, not everyone plays the minigame together like in other similar games.
On this tab you can also report the score of the minigame. If there are 4 or more players in a lobby, 2 players must report the same score to successfully lock it in. Otherwise only 1 player needs to report the score.
Ranked scores (e.g. 1st/2nd/3rd) will automatically be adjusted by the server to be ordered correctly as players can sometimes report ties in differnt ways from each other.
Lastly is the Chat tab.
This tab will not appear if you are playing a minigame by yourself. This tab can be used to communicate scores with each other, coordinate room hosting, or just to say hi to your friend. Some alerts can also be sent from the server here. If there is a new message you have not read, a notification icon will appear on the tab.
After the final minigame has concluded, a results screen will appear with crowning whoever had the most stars the victor of Mega Splat Party! A leaderboard will also allow you to see how well you and all your friends did. MSP is now over and you can enjoy the rest of your evening. If you happened to be the winner, you have earned yourself the grand prize of a sendou badge! Your badge will be automatically added to your profile if you have a sendou.ink account, no need to ask for it in the discord server.
If you do not have a sendou.ink account and have now just made one to recieve the badge or you didn't recieve it automatically, send a help-desk request on the discord server.
MSP has some measures to keep all players safe and for MSP to stay fun. Although for us to moderate MSP, we need you to let us know if there is a problem. On our discord server, you can send a message in help-desk if you have any concerns or run into a problem.
To keep Mega Splat Party running efficiently, the game will sometimes move on whether you are ready or not. Fear not though, this is not randomly done. During your turn, you have 3-4 minutes to complete your turn. The time the server will move on to the minigame is shown on the turn counter.
Once that time has been reached, if you have not completed your turn yet, you will be temporarily removed from the game and a minigame will start. You can always join back into the game once you have time to play again. If you rejoin, you will begin playing once the current minigame has ended.
Minigames also have a time limit as well. As each minigame can take a different amount of time to play, this amount of time changes depending on the minigame. The time limit for the minigame can be seen in the top left of the minigame window.
If your lobby has not submitted their results by this time, the entire lobby will not be awarded any coins. If you were in the middle of a duel, the wager will be returned to each player. Each minigame's time limit is designed to give you 4 minutes to create and get all players to join a room, enough time to play the game, and 2 minutes to submit results. If after 4 minutes not all players have joined the room, start the minigame without the missing players. Refer to Playing Together for instructions on submitting results for missing players.
For some offenses, players can be banned from playing in Mega Splat Party. MSP also shares a ban list with multiple other tournament organizers to keep it's player base safe. If you feel you have been wrongfully banned from playing in MSP, you can send an unban request in the help-desk on the MSP discord server.
If you run into an issue with MSP and want to help make it better, send in a bug report on the discord server. When sending a bug report make sure to include a few things.
The developer of the website may have a couple of questions regarding the issue, so make sure to keep an eye on your bug report post. Thank you for helping make MSP better!
There are many different kinds of spaces you can land on that do various actions. Some trigger when ending your turn and others when you walk over them. This is a short overview of each space on the board.
Blue Spaces are triggered when you end your turn on one. When triggered, you recieve 3 coins for landing on it.
Red Spaces are triggered when you end your turn on one. When triggered, you lose 3 coins for landing on it.
Lucky Spaces are triggered when you end your turn on one. When triggered, a roulette will appear giving you a chance at winning coins or an item.
Shops are triggered when you walk onto one. When triggered, a shop pop-up will open allowing you to exchange coins for items.
Duel Spaces are triggered when you walk onto one. When triggered, a pop-up will open giving you the option to wager your coins OR a star on the next minigame with the winner of that minigame gaining the wager from the other player. A duel can only be triggered once per star purchase.
Star Spaces are triggered when you walk onto one. When triggered, a pop-up will open allowing you to purchase a star for 20 coins. If you purchase a star, you will be warped back to the start of the map.
2 Star Spaces are trigger when you walk onto one. When triggered, a pop-up will open allowing you to purchase a star for 20 coins OR 2 stars for 40 coins. If you purchase either, you will be warped back to the start of the map.
Shops are a place to exchange your hard earned coins for powerful items. There are 3 shops on the board. Each one has a differnt stock of items, so be sure to check them all out. Shops will open when you pass over a shop space. When looking at the map, if you hover over a shop, a preview of what the shop sells will appear in the top right corner of the screen.
Your map is an invaluable tool to planning out your turn. You can look at your map before you roll and while you're moving on the board. Hovering over some spaces can give you extra information about them.
A counter in the top left will also tell you how many moves away a space is from you.
While viewing the map, you can also see where every silver star on the board is located.
Silver stars are a fun modifier that can be enabled during a game of Mega Splat Party, it is not guaranteed to be enabled though. Check the discord's announcements to see if there are any special modifiers enabled for the current game of Mega Splat Party.
Silver stars are another way of getting your hands on stars. When you collect 5 silver stars, they will come together to form a star for you.
Every turn 1 silver star is placed randomly on the board. Silver stars will appear in the same location for all players. Some may spawn in impossible to reach locations, to get these you may have to use an item to reach them.
Double Dice is an item that allows the user to roll 2 dice and add their rolls together instead of rolling just 1.
Triple Dice is an item that allows the user to roll 3 dice and add their rolls together instead of rolling just 1.
Tacticooler is an item that adds 3 onto your dice roll.
Custom Dice is an item that allows you to pick what number you will roll from between 1 and 10.
Warp Pipe is an item that when used will warp you to a random space on the board. You will still roll and move after using this item.
Gold Pipe is an item that when used will warp you to 1 space away from the star. You will still roll and move after using this item.
Shop-Hop-Box is an item that when used will warp you to 1 space away from a random shop on the board. You will still roll and move after using this item.
Skeleton Key is an item that cannot be used before you roll. Instead, when you walk up to a gold gate on the map, you can use a Skeleton Key to unlock the gate for the rest of that turn. Using an item does not prevent you from using a Skeleton Key on the same turn.
Following a turn, all players will be placed into a minigame lobby. Some of these minigames will require players to be together in a room in Splatoon. You can use the minigame chat to coordinate who will host the room. When hosting or joining a room in Splatoon, make sure to use the pool and password provided on the website. Players have 4 minutes to join the room. If a player does not show up, start the game and refer to Late Players for submitting their result.
If after 4 minutes if not all players are in the room, start the minigame anyways and assign all players who are not present the following:
Following the completion of a minigame, players must report their scores in the Results tab of the minigame window. Results may include Win/Lose, 1st/2nd/3rd/4th, or a numeric input. Make sure to read the last paragraph of the minigame description for information on how results are submitted for the current minigame. After you have entered the correct results for the minigame, press the "Submit" button to submit the results you have entered. Be aware that in lobby sizes of 4 or more players, 2 players will need to submit the same results before the minigame will move on.
Some minigames will have players playing on teams. These teams will be shown in the minigame window grouping multiple players together with 1 result submission. Players being grouped does not mean to place them on the same in game team. Make sure to read the minigame description carefully for setting the teams in Splatoon. For example, some minigames will have players put on the opposite team of their teammates, and have them force the other team to lose.
Thank you to everyone who has been cheering me on as I spent months developing this silly little game. And also thank you to everyone who enjoyed playing this.
Although it is not required for players to be joined in the Mega Splat Party discord to play, it is highly recommended.
The discord features multiple resources that can be very valuable to you as a player. First is the help-desk. If you ever run into a problem, accidentally misreport a score, or need to report problematic behaviour from a player, the help-desk puts you directly in contact with someone who can help.
The discord also features many voice call channels, making it easier for players wanting to coordinate with voice calls to have an easily accesible place call each other.
There are also more features such as a place to report bugs you come across, a feedback channel, and patch notes for any updates made to Mega Splat Party.
The player who wins Mega Splat Party will win a sendou.ink badge for their profile.
The badge will be automatically added to the winner's profile if they have a sendou account. If the next day the badge has not appeared on your account or you made an account after winning, send a message in the help-desk channel of the discord to have it manually added to your profile.
